Course Objectives The course aims to teach the basis medical documentation process in the hospitals. Moreover, ıt will let the students to understand the relationship between medical secretary, physicians, patients and patient's families. Finally it will help the students to involve in the law and regulations of medical documentation.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students who succeeded in this course will be able to; Describe the concepts of medical documentation and medical document and the importance of them.
  • Define the basic characteristics and types of medical documents.
  • Specify the principles of planning and organization of medical documentation operations.
  • Describe the roles, tasks and responsibilities of medical secreteries in medical documentation processes
  • Organize patient files.
  • List the contents of patient file and other medical documents; put them in order and standardize the patient files.
  • Define the legal and ethical regulations related to medical documentation.
  • Write 10-finger F keyboard and explain the importance and advantages of fast writing.
Course Description The course will cover lectures such as; the history of medical documentation, international developments, the importance of medical documentation and secretariat, the responsibilities of doctors, nurses, patients and secretariat in medical documentation, symbols and computer typing.
